Day 01: Arrival in Solang

A Nomadier representative will be waiting for you at Manali Bus stand or ‘Kullu Airport’and welcome you to the beautiful state of Himachal Pradesh. We would straight away head towards our hotel in Solang Valley. Later after you have acclimatized and relaxed, we would undertake a small walk to ‘Shiv-Ling’ and do river crossing. Later we would spend the night at our hotel.


Day 02: Acclimatize And Adventure Activities

The second day would be spent at ‘Solang’, acclimatizing to the climate and getting in touch with the surroundings. ‘Solang’ is an authentic Himalayan Village of ‘Kullu Valley’. After breakfast you would be taken for rock climbing and rappelling and post lunch, you can indulge in valley adventure activities like paragliding, zorbing, quad-biking, cable car riding (Optional at extra charges). The night will be spent in our hotel.


Day 03: Solang – Lamadugh (2,743 Mts.) (Trek - Approx 05 - 06 hrs)
The first day of the trek goes through cool forests of giant deodar (cedar), alder and oak. The trail climbs gently at first through the Manalsu valley along the Manalsu torrent. Extensive views of the Kullu Valley appear and slowly fade into the distance as the degree of the gradient decreases, the gentle slope of the first campsite in the lush green meadows of Lamadugh is reached. From here beautiful views of the surrounding peaks open up. Overnight in tented camp.


Day 04: Lamadugh – Riali Thach (3,414 Mts.) (Trek - Approx 05 - 06 hrs)

The trail now begins to ascend steeply through woodland and meadow, with wild alpine flowers strewn all around. On the way brilliant shrubs of Rhododendron and Birch pave the way to the ridge, looking out across spectacular peaks, after which a descent leads to the campsite at Dohra Nallah. Overnight in tented camp in ‘Riali Thach’.


Day 05: Riali Thach – Base of Kaliheyni Pass (4,725 Mts.) (Trek - Approx 05 - 06 hrs)

A lovely walk through lush green forests to the campsite at the base of the Kaliheyni Pass
(15,500 feet/4,725 m). The campsite itself is at an elevation of 13,200 feet (4,023 m). The mountain peaks of the Kullu and Lahaul valleys are visible throughout. Overnight in tented camp.


Day 06: Base of Kaliheyni Pass – Meadow Camp (Trek - Approx 08 - 09 hrs)
The landscape slowly begins to change as forests and meadows give way to rocky outcrops with patches of snow starting to appear. A rather steep climb through glacial debris and snow leads to the top of the Kaliheyni Pass, from where breathtaking views are available. After a brief halt a descent through glacier and moraine leads to the campsite on the banks of a sparkling mountain stream. This is where the camp is set and we retire for the day in tented camp.


Day 07: Meadow Camp – Gaddi Thach (3,577 Mts.) (Trek - Approx 05 - 06 hrs)
The trails now leads down into the Sunni River Valley and up to the buff overlooking the river. Camp is set at Gaddi Thach. Overnight in tented camp.


Day 08: Gaddi Thach – Lambapad (Trek - Approx 03 - 04 hrs)
Leaving this lovely campsite at Gaddi Thach, the path winds through rocky terrain soon replaced by meadows again. The river rushes through spectacular gorges and is crossed via a snow bridge. Forests begin to appear and soon the campsite, with an abundance of dry wood next to a sparkling stream is reached. Overnight in tented camp.


Day 09: Lambapad – Sunni Valley Camp (3,658 Mts.) (Trek - Approx 06 - 07 hrs)
The trail now descends to the river bank. The campsite is by a stream which adds to the beauty of the surrounding landscape, one of the most magnificent in the Western Himalayas. We would retire for the night in tented camp.


Day 10: Sunni Valley – Bara Bhangal (2,286 Mts.) (Trek - Approx 07 - 08 hrs)
The trail now winds its way down towards the valley floor, after which an almost level walk leads to the camp just before the tiny ancient village of Bara Bhangal. Overnight in tented camp.


Day 11: Rest Day at Bara Bhangal
A remote and isolated village, Bara Bhangal is open only for four or five months of the year. The inhabitants are the legendary Himalayan shepherds - the Gaddis - who lead a nomadic life, herding their flocks of sheep into high mountain pastures once the snow melts and then returning to their isolated existence in the village. Visit the charming village of Bara Bhangal and then retire for the night in tented camp.


Day 12: Bara Bhangal – Udag (Trek - Approx 06 - 07 hrs)
A steady climb, with the scenery changing quite dramatically and the air getting cooler, leads to the campsite at Marhi, at the base of the Thamsar Pass. The evening chill is replaced by the comfortable warmth of a lively campfire. Overnight in tented camp at Udag.


Day 13: Udag – Over Thamsar Pass – Panhartu (4,800 Mts.) (Trek - Approx 08 - 09 hrs)
A long walk today. The trail slowly emerges from the rocky terrain into the softer landscape of lakes, meadows and forests. Numerous lakes dot the countryside, interspersed by cascading waterfalls. A descent through green wooded slopes leads to a tiny tea shop and a while later, to the tiny village of Palchak. Camp nearby at Panhartu. Overnight in tented camp.


Day 14: Panhartu – Rajgunda (Trek - Approx 05 - 06 hrs)
A very pleasant day's walk through a leafy bridal path and soon tiny villages, seemingly hanging on the shoulders of the hillsides, make their appearance. Camp is set near the small village of Billing, where we retire for the night in tented camp at Rajgunda.


Day 15: Rajgunda – Bir (Trek - Approx 02 - 03 hrs) And Then Drive to Dharamsala (Drive - Approx 03 - 04 hrs)
The bridal path leads onto the town of Bir. On the way extensive views of the lush green Kangra Valley open up. A steep descent leads to the tiny Tibetan settlement of Bir. From Bir drive to Dharamsala. Overnight in hotel.


Day 16: Dharamshala Sight Seeing
After breakfast in the morning, we head towards ‘Norbulingka Institute’, the ‘Astronomical Medical Centre’ and ‘Gangchen Kyishong Monastery’. Pack lunch on the way and after returning from there, stroll through ‘Mcleodganj’, exploring the surroundings, doing some shopping and interacting with local inhabitants. Later we would return back to our hotel by dinner time. Overnight in hotel.


Day 17: Dharamshala – Chandigarh And Proceed for onward journey (Approx 200 Kms.) (Drive - Approx 06 - 07 hrs)
Today is the last day of the expedition and we drive from Dharamshala to Chandigarh. We drive along through picturesque roads and passes and on reaching Chandigarh; a Nomadier representative will assist you with your onward journey.
